Rita E. Dye *

Marcorita “Rita” Esther , 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 8, after a battle with lung cancer.

She was born on April 11, , in Ada, OH and called Pensacola home since . She retired from the State of where she worked as an unemployment adjudicator. She was an active member of Epiphany Lutheran Church (formerly St. Paul Lutheran Church) and enjoyed traveling, gardening, cross stitching, cooking, and spending time at the beach.

Rita is preceded in death by her husband, Bob; parents, Leo Russell and Ruth Erma and brother, Dallas Shawkey.

Rita is survived by her sons, Brad Dye and Mike Dye (Kelli); grandchildren, Parker Dye (Kara), Kyndall Braumuller (Omar), Brendan Dye, Lindsay Dye and Braeden Dye; great granddaughter, Ruby Dye; as well as her sister, Vera George.

Visitation will be held 11:00am until a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 11:30am Friday, February 18, 2022, at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 6700 Spanish Trail, Pensacola, FL, with Pastor Gore officiating. Funeral cortege will depart Memorial Chapel at 9:00am Thursday, February 24, 2022, for a committal service to begin at 9:30am at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola.
