Robert M Brown *
Robert M Brown, 92, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Coffman Nursing Home.
Born Monday, October 26, 1931 in Cavetown, MD, he was the son of late Mahlon Joseph Brown and Viola Elizabeth (Toms) Brown.
Robert was a graduate from Smithsburg High School, class of 1950; and later graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Shepherd University.
Robert also served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Later, he was employed as a Sanitarian with the State of Maryland.
Robert was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren and with the Funkstown American Legion Post 211.
He is survived by his loving wife, Julia Yvonne Brown, son, Robert M. (Jacquie) Brown, II, Daughter, Joni Sgaggero, daughter, Kellie A (Larry) Koons, and brother, Donald Brown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gladys Brown-Shockey.
Services will be held Friday, January 26, 2024, at 11:00 am, at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North Hagerstown, MD, with the Pastor Twyla Rowe officiating.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday, January 26, 2024, 10:00 am – 11:00 am.
Interment will be at the Smithsburg Cemetery, Smithsburg, MD.
