Virginia J. Rush *

Virginia Rush, 78, of Little and Hilltop Lakes, Texas went home to be with her Lord on June 23, 2011.

She was preceded in death by her husband, D. Rush II and her brother, Jackson Taylor Shockey. Virginia is survived by two brothers, Hubert Gannon Shockey, Jr. and wife, Mary Helen, of Denton, Texas and John Paul Shockey and wife, Waynette, of Plano, Texas; her sister, Janis S. Possa of Santa Clarita, California; her loving children, daughters Benita and husband, Kenny, of Dubuque, and Joan Robbins of Little Rock, ; sons, James D. Rush III and wife, Rita, of Lufkin, Texas and Jay Robert Rush of Little Rock, Arkansas; seven grandchildren and five great-grandsons, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was born in Jenkins, on April 29th, 1933, the daughter of Martha and Hubert Gannon Shockey, Sr. The family moved to Arkansas in . Jenny attended St. Scholastica in Ft. and Mount St. Mary in Little Rock, Arkansas. After working as the Administrator of Briarwood at Nursing Center for 32 years, she retired to Hilltop Lakes, Texas.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 27th at St. Edward Catholic Church with Father Jason Tyler as Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Cancer Clinic, Attn: Dr. Terry Jenkins, 2215 E. Villa Maria, #110, Bryan Texas 77802.
