Shockey Roots

Isabel Anne Shockey, age 93, of East Peoria, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024 at 9:48 p.m. at The Saxony Court Senior Living in East Peoria.
She was born January 27, 1931 in Kickapoo, IL to Alex and Rose (Gilles) Heinz. She married Kenneth Shockey on May 7, 1949 in Kickapoo. He passed away January 1, 2005 in Florida. She is also preceded in death by her parents, three sons: Herbert, David, and Tony Shockey. She was also preceded in death by five brothers: Floyd, Gilbert, Kermit, Maurice, and Norvin Heinz, and three sisters: Florence Heinz, Wilma Lawler, and Ida Mae Boyer.
Survivors include three granddaughters: Kimberly (Todd) Wyatt, April Shockey, Dikota Shockey, one grandson, Deavon (Abbie) Shockey, six great-grandchildren, and two daughters-in-law: Brenda and Jesika Shockey.
Isabel was a Waitress for many years in the Peoria area. Some of the places she worked were the Roseland Supper Club, Gils in Hanna City, Pere Marquette in Peoria and last at Caterpillar, Inc.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society, she enjoyed dancing in Leigh Acres in Florida, and was a longtime member of St Mary’s Catholic Church in Kickapoo.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Mass will be Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Kickapoo. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services
Burial will be in St Patrick’s Cemetery in Kickapoo following the services.
