Ronald L Starr *

Ronald , 85, of Jefferson City, passed away on Thursday, February 1, . He was born on December 3, 1938 in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of the late Floyd and Izola (Bryant) Starr.
He graduated from Keokuk High School and went on to earn his Industrial Engineering Degree at Iowa State University. Shortly after graduating college, he was drafted into the United States Army. While stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas he ventured over to the tennis courts at Kansas State University, where he met the love of his life, Evelyn LaVonne Starr. The couple would marry on August 17, 1963, in Industry, Kansas. The couple was blessed with two sons, Randall Lee and Warren Starr.
Ronald worked as an engineer for Champion Papers and Chesebrough Ponds. He then owned a commercial paper recycling business until his retirement. After that he and Evie lived at the of the Ozarks for 16 years. They enjoyed their winter homes in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and Superstition Mountain, . They would move back to Jefferson City in 2016.
He is survived by his loving wife Evelyn; sons, Randall Lee Starr (Vanessa), Gregory Warren Starr (Leonard Shockey); grandchildren, Jenson Paul Starr, Josie Lea Starr; step grandchildren, Sage Bentlage, Zane Bentlage, and Ash Gautam; brother, Mick Starr; Brothers-in-, Stanley Lewis (Betty), Duane Lewis, Herschel Lewis (Jeannine), Darrell Henry; nieces and nephews, Michelle Pierson (Michael), Kathy Sandoli (Chris), Stacey Ricci (Matt), Kristen Lewis (Jimmy Thurston), Darrell Henry Jr (Jennifer), Rhonda (Troy), Allen Henry, Brent Starr, and Breanna Starr. He was preceded in death by his sister Velva Fish; sister-in-laws, Elaine Henry, Janet Shivers.
Friends will be received on Friday, February 9 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Houser-Millard Funeral Director’s. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 p.m.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Parkinson’s Foundation or the Russellville High School Track/Cross Country Programs.
